About me
Aside from a five-year drumming break while living abroad, I’ve been drumming since I was 13. I began my musical journey in the local music scene, much like many of us, starting with the firefighter’s band (Feuerwehrkapelle).
Soon after, some friends invited me to join a Big Band as a percussionist, and that’s when I was first introduced to jazz music.
Don’t expect to hear a drum solo from me anytime soon. I see myself as the band’s backbone, focusing on providing a solid foundation for the other musicians.
I enjoy playing across various genres. Over the years, I’ve performed in classical, jazz, rock, swing, dance and funk bands. A major highlight of my (non-professional) drumming career was joining the German Army Band (Heeresmusikkorps 12) for 18 months. That experience was invaluable, and I still vividly recall the moment I walked into the Halifax Metro Center in Canada in front of 15,000 spectators who came to see the Nova Scotia International Tattoo.
I play music as a hobby and don’t rely on it financially. Most important thing is to have fun. I am available as a drummer to join a band fulltime as well as a session drummer, stand-in etc.
